Evangeline Parish 4-H Sew With Cotton Style Show winners announced

The 2015 Evangeline 4-H Sew-With-Cotton and Spring Clothing Style Show and Awards Ceremony sponsored by the Evangeline Parish Volunteers for Family and Community and the Ville Platte Super Wal-Mart was held Thursday, February 26, at 6 p.m.
Eighteen 4-H members participating in the Sew-With-Cotton Contest modeled the garments they made from 100 percent cotton fabric; and nine 4-H members participating in the Spring Clothing contest modeled the garments they made.
Nelda Fontenot and Mary Soileau, Evangeline Parish Volunteers for Family and Community members, presented the following awards to the participants in each division:
Spring Clothing Contest:
Senior Complete Outfit Division: Lelia Deville, Pine Prairie High School 10th grade, parish winner.
Seventh - Eighth Grade Complete Outfit Division: Emma Johnson, Good Shepherd Home School seventh grade, parish winner; Elayne Elnaggar, Bayou Chicot Elementary School eighth grade, second place; Iyana Freeman, Ville Platte Elementary School eighth grade, third place; and Gabrielle Fontenot, Sacred Heart Elementary School, eighth grade, fourth place.
Fourth - Sixth Grade Bottoms Only Division: Laura Elnaggar, Bayou Chicot Elementary School fifth grade, parish winner.
Fourth - Sixth Grade Aprons Division: Sarah Dupre, Mamou Elementary School fourth grade, parish winner; Selerina Soto, Chataignier Elementary School fourth grade, second place; and Alaina Manuel, Mamou Elementary School fourth grade, third place.
Sew with Cotton Contest:
Fourth - Sixth Grade Apron Division: Gracelyn Soileau, Sacred Heart Elementary School fourth grade, parish winner; Lillian Blanchard, Sacred Heart Elementary School fourth grade, second place; Ella Grace Ortego, Sacred Heart Elementary School fourth grade, third place; Madeline Duplechin, Mamou Elementary School fifth grade, fourth place; and Aubrie Vidrine, Sacred Heart Elementary School fourth grade; Halle Lafleur, Sacred Heart Elementary School fourth grade; and Karis Johnson, Good Shepherd Home School fourth grade, tied for fifth place. Blue ribbon winners were Madison Courville, Vidrine Elementary School fifth grade; Adilynn David, W.W. Stewart ELementary School fourth grade; Victoria Robert, Vidrine Elementary School fifth grade; and Lillian Stanfield, James Stephens Montessori Elementary School fourth grade. Red ribbon winners were Kenneth Colla, Chataignier Elementary School sixth grade; Taylor Deshotels, Mamou Elementary School fourth grade; Hannah Manuel, W.W. Stewart Elementary School fourth grade; and Gracie McCauley, Sacred Heart Elementary School fourth grade.
