King Cotton LXII will be Troy Hebert, the Commissioner of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. Brenda Saucier will serve as Colonel Cotton and Angie Rozas will serve as parade marshal.

•Contradanse and Crowning of Le Roi et La Reine - Monday, October 19, 2015, at Ville Platte Civic Center (doors open at 5 p.m. and crowning is at 6:30 p.m.)
•4-H pet show and cookery - Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Ville Platte Civic Center (3:30 p.m.)
•Cotton Pageant - Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Ville Platte Civic Center. (5:30 p.m.)
•Grand Parade of Cotton - Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 12 noon
•Running of the Tournoi at Industrial Park - Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 3 p.m.
Cotton Festival Parade details anounced
The Grand Parade of Cotton will be held Sunday, October 25, beginning at 12 noon. Line up will begin at 10:30 a.m. Deadline to register to participate in the parade is Friday, October 23, by 10 a.m.
Line up will be organized as follows:
•Floats will be parked along Main Street, between Dupre and Thompson streets.
•Marching bands, dance groups and walking units will assemble in the parking lot at Mikey’s Donuts. No vehicles will be allowed in the parking lot.
•Cars and authorized motorcycles will line up in the parking lot at Citizen’s Bank.
•Trucks with trailers will line up along South Dupre Street (the back of the old hospital lot/new library).
•Tournoi riders will line up on the road at the corner of South Thompson Street and West Main Street. No one will be allowed on the library lot!
•No four-wheelers, no horses (except for Tournoi riders) or motorcycles (except for authorized motorcycles) will be allowed.
If you should have any questions, look for parade organizers at the corner of Dupre and Main streets.
Payments may be made at Ville Platte City Hall (Vicky) or mailed to LA. Cotton Festival, 1293 Lee St., Ville Platte, LA 70586.

•State politicians - $100
•Local politicians - $50
•Dance groups - $25
•any walking units - $25
•Trucks with trailers - $20
•Trucks or cars - $20
•Homecoming courts - free
•Bands - free
•Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts - free
