Local 4-H members attend 4-H University

“Rockin’ and Rollin’ to Success” was the theme of the 101st Annual 4-H University held on the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge June 23-26, 2015. Thirty-five 4-H’ers from Evangeline Parish participated this year. This year’s 4-H University participants did a terrific job representing Evangeline Parish. 4-H University is a state wide competition for 4-H’ers from throughout the state. Louisiana 4-H is an educational program of the LSU AgCenter.

In addition to the contests and educational sessions, parish 4-H’ers were selected to serve on a state board. Serving on the 2015-2016 State Fashion Board are Hallie Daire and Gabrielle Fontenot, Sacred Heart High School. Servind on the State Food and Fitness Board are Camille Bergeron, Alyson Fontenot and Morgan Fontenot, Sacred Heart High School. Serving on the State Science, Engineering and Technology Board are Tre’ Fontenot and Annabeth Briley, Sacred Heart High School. Serving as National Conference Delegate is Lily Deville, Pine Prairie High School.
Accompanying these 4-H’ers were adult volunteer leaders Angie Fusilier, Kimberly Deville and James Barnes, along with 4-H agent Todd Fontenot.
