Local Come Lord Jesus group celebrates 35 years

The Come Lord Jesus celebrated its 35th anniversary on Friday, August 21, with a special mass led by Father Conley Bertrand and reception at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. The group was started by Verna Guillory in 1980. The group’s original six members would recited the Rosary and gospel readings in French. Now, members recite the prayers in English with one decade of the Rosary in French. The members get together once a week at Heritage Manor to pray with the residents. Guillory said that of the original founding members, she is the only one still active in the group.
