Magnolia Garden Club holds Christmas social

The Magnolia Garden Club met at the home of Hazel Fontenot on Monday, December 8, to celebrate the club’s Christmas social. Members present included Geannie Ardoin, Theresa Attales, Beth Fontenot, Hazel Fontenot, Lola Fontenot, Haidee Floyed, Mable Foreman, Elaine LaTour, Lynn Landreneau, Paula Landreneau, Glenda Mitchell, Theresa Reed and Dalayne Veillon. Guests of the club were Cathy Ashlock, Barbara Buroker, Jeanne Comeaux, Charlene Dupre, Kathy Norris Morein, Iris LaTour Chauffe and Susan Holden.
The club had fun exchanging consumable, recycled gifts, which ranged from food items to plants and paper goods. Members were practicing conservation ideas advocated by the club.
The Magnolia Garden Club would like to wish all a Merry Christmas! Members are encouraging everyone to “light up” - even a little means a lot! Lets make our city special at this time of the year. On Thursday, December 18, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., judges will be judging lights and decorations throughout Ville Platte. Winners will be presented awards and recognized in the following categories: Christmas Spirit, civic award, gold medal overall winner and the gold medal of appreciation, presented to someone who participates each year.
