New Ville Platte city royalty crowned

The Junior, Teen and Miss Ville Platte Pageant was held Sunday, March 16, at the Northside Civic Center. This special event was emceed by Torian Paige Veillon and is annually sponsored by the Ville Platte Women’s Association and co-sponsored by the City of Ville Platte. Judging the event were a panel of three judges who were not from this area and were qualified for this event. Congratulations to all contestants and winners! Each queen will represent the city of Ville Platte at many local and state events throughout their reign. Miss Ville Platte will compete as a contestant in the Cotton Festival coronation in October as a representative of Ville Platte and she will receive a $500 scholarship upon completion of her reign in March 2015 when she crowns her successor. The VPWA organization thanks the many merchants in our surrounding area for the donation of door prizes and most importantly we sincerely thank the ladies who helped in this year’s successful endeavor. Winners and their runners-up were selected as follows:
Junior Miss Ville Platte - Jillian Grace Thille, the 13-year-old daughter of David and Amanda Thille, was crowned Junior Miss Ville Platte. She is a seventh grade student at Ville Platte High School.
Teen Miss Ville Platte - Kelsey Brianne McDaniel, the 16-year-old daughter of Bridget and Ryan Guillory and the late Coty McDaniel, was crowned Teen Miss Ville Platte. She is an 11th grade student at Sacred Heart High School.
Miss Ville Platte - Montrell Reshawn Thomas, the 18-year-old daughter of Desmond and Rebecca Thomas, was crowned Miss Ville Platte. She attends Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, where she is pursuing a degree in child and family studies.
