Opelousas Little Theatre to present “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”

The Opelousas Little Theatre is proud to present the witty and humorous show “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” This unforgettable story covers how six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. This riotous ride, complete with audience participation, candidly discloses hilarious and touching stories from their home life while spelling their way through a series of [potentially made-up] words, hoping to never hear the soul-crushing “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. These six tween spellers will learn that winning (and losing) isn’t everything!
The show features Michael Bourgeois, Angie McBride and Duncan McBride of Lawtell, James LeCompte of Arnaudville, Bradley Credeur, Taylor LaCalle and Kelly Schexnider of Lafayette, Melanie Soileau and Robert Soileau of Ville Platte and pianist Susan Comeaux of Crowley.
With this all-star cast, Director Angie McBride invites you to make plans to see this comedic delight that is certain to not disappoint!
All performances will be held at the Opelousas Little Theatre in Opelousas South City Park on the following dates: April 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, May 5, 6, 7 at 7 p.m. and April 24, May 1 at 2 p.m.
