Ride for Dana benefit planned

Dana Gore has been hospitalized and out of work for the past couple of months and has a long recovery period ahead. Her partner, Jerry, has also been out of work to care for her. A benefit motorcycle and jeep ride with several stops throughout the parish, is planned for Sunday, May 1. Entry fee is $20 for the driver and $10 per passenger. Registration will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at Judy’s Nitecap in Mamou with line up to leave at 9 a.m. The stops include Gators in Ville Platte, Willie’s in Washington, Stop Crusier Bar in Eunice and Roadhouse in Basile before returning to Judy’s Nitecap. For those not riding, a lot of events will be held at Judy’s Nitecap during the day, including a silent auction, raffle tickets, jambalaya plate lunches and APA eight ball pool tournament starting at 2 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the couple.
