Santa Claus pays a visit to SMC

Savoy Medical Center kicked off the holiday season with its annual lighing of the Christmas tree in the hospital’s lobby.Seen above, Santa and his elves were greeted by the large crowd gathered hoping to have a chance to visit with Santa and tell him their gift wishes. Most children were happy to visit with him while a few were not as enthusiastic about their encounter with the jolly guy in the red suit. Several of the hospital’s staff led a Christmas carol sing along, and the children enjoyed snacks while waiting to visit with Santa. (Gazette photos by Heather Bogard)
