Several area pageants scheduled during month of March

Farm Bureau
Pageant to be held Sunday March 9
Evangeline Parish Farm Bureau is now accepting applications for its annual Queen’s Contest. Any single female between the ages of 16 and 19 by June 1, a member of the Evangeline Parish and a daughter of a Farm Bureau family or sponsored by a Farm Bureau member may enter. The contest will be held Sunday, March 9, at the Ville Platte Civic Center following the annual meeting program. Applications are available at the schools and Farm Bureau office. The deadline to turn in applications will be Thursday, February 27. A $5 entry fee is to be paid by contestant. If you have any questions, contact Brandy Gautreaux at (337) 363-2111, ext. 313.

VP Youth and Miss Pageant to be held Sunday March 16
The youth and Miss Ville Platte pageants will be held Sunday, March 16, at the Northside Civic Center beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Entry fee is $30, for ages newborn to 12, and $45 for ages 13-22, which includes photogenic entry. Please bring 5x7 photo on day of pageant. A $10 late fee will be assessed for door entries on the day of the pageant. Optional categories are also available for $1 per category on the day of the pageant.
Attire for ages newborn to 12 is Sunday best and attire for ages 13-22 is formal wear.
Divisions are as follows (age by date of pageant):
Baby Miss and Master: Ages zero to 11 months.
Petite Miss and Master: Ages 12-23 months.
Toddler Miss and Master: Ages 2-3.
Tiny Miss: Ages 4-6.
Little Miss: Ages 7-9.
Deb Miss: Ages 10-12.
Junior Miss: Ages 13-14.
Teen Miss: Ages 15-16.
Miss: Ages 17-22.
Admission to pageant is $5 per person and free for children three and under.
This pageant is open state-wide and contestants may wear age-appropriate make-up.

Boggy Bayou Youth Pageant to be held
Saturday, March 15
The 2014 Boggy Bayou Festival (BBF) youth pageants are set for Saturday, March 15, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Boggy Bayou Fairgrounds.
Divisions include: Baby Miss Boggy Bayou, girls 0-18 months; Baby Mr. Boggy Bayou, boys 0-18 months; Tiny Miss Boggy Bayou, girls 19-35 months; Tiny Mr. Boggy Bayou, boys 19-35 months; Little Miss Boggy Bayou, girls 3-5 years; Little Mr. Boggy Bayou, boys 3-5 years; Petite Miss Boggy Bayou, girls 6-9 years; Deb Miss Boggy Bayou, girls 10-13 years; and Teen Miss Boggy Bayou, young ladies 14-16 years old.
The entry fee is $25 per contestant. Two children entering from the same immediate family will pay only $45 for both.
Deadline to enter is Monday, March 10. No entries will be accepted after this date.
Awards include a queen/king, first runner-up and second runner-up in each division.
Attire for those 0-9 years old is Sunday best. Attire for those 10 and older will be formal wear (tea-length or long gowns.)

All kings and queens must attend the Boggy Bayou Queen’s Pageant on Saturday, April 5, at 2:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
No other title may be held during the reign as Boggy Bayou Festival royalty.

All proceeds from the pageant benefit Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie.
