Twenty-third annual Smoked Meat Festival royalty crowned
The 23rd annual Smoked Meat Festival youth royalty was selected during the pageant held Thursday, June 25, at the Northside Civic Center. Winners and the runners-up were announced as follows:
Petite Baby Miss: Braxlin LaBorde, the three-month-old daughter of Jody and Krystal LaBorde of Elizabeth, was named Petite Baby Miss Viande Boucanée. Aubree Claire Babineaux, the five-month-old daughter of Cade and Morgan Babineaux of Opelousas, was named first runner-up.
Petite Baby Master: Connor James Lafleur, the four-and-a-half-month old son of Brent Lafleur and Heather Maricle of Ville Platte, was chosen as Petite Baby Master Viande Boucanée.
Baby Miss: Hadleigh Dugas, the 10-month-old daughter of Ronald and Summer Dugas of Lake Charles, was crowned Baby Miss Viande Boucanée. Rounding out the Baby Miss court were Kenleigh Saige Soileau, the 10-month-old daughter of Eric and Taylor Soileau of Melville, first runner-up; and Averie Grace Fontenot, the six-month-old daughter of Alaina Lee and Johnathan Fontenot of Ville Platte, second runner-up.
Toddler Miss: Zylee McQuirter, the 14-month-old daughter of Jonathan and Danielle McQuirter of Eunice, was chosen as Toddler Miss Viande Boucanée. The Toddler Miss court was completed with first runner-up Kyndal Grace Bergeron, the 18-month-old daughter of Scott and Kristin Bergeron of Sunset; second runner-up Isabella Gradney, the 15-month-old daughter of Erin Marcantel and Burnell Gradney of Opelousas; and third runner-up Baelyn Jade Johnson, the 15-month-old daughter of Stacy Vidrine and Dennis Johnson Jr. of Opelousas.
Toddler Master: Holden James Stelly, the 15-month-old son of Courtney Hardy and Kyle Stelly of Port Barre, was selected as Toddler Master Viande Boucanée.
Tiny Miss: The Tiny Miss Viande Boucanée title was awarded to Allie Rose Fontenot, the two-year-old daughter of TJ and Kristin Fontenot of Pine Prairie. First runner-up Ava Claire Hatcher, the three-year-old daughter of Andrea Hatcher and Nathan Ray Hatcher of Ville Platte; and second runner-up Arris Faith Fontenot, the two-year-old daughter of Dirk and Rose Fontenot of Ville Platte, completed the Tiny Miss court.
Tiny Master: Kaiden Lane Daigle, the three-year-old son of Jeret and Tiffany Daigle of Ville Platte, was chosen as Tiny Master Viande Boucanée.
Wee Miss: The Wee Miss Viande Boucanée. title was awarded to Alexandra Elisabeth Johnson, the five-year-old daughter of Chad and Nicola Johnson of Sulphur. Rounding out the Wee Miss court were Graceanne Luna, the five-year-old daughter of Toby and Nickolette Luna of Eunice, first runner-up; Addison Grace Plauche’, the five-year-old daughter of Blake and Allison Plauche’ of Plaucheville, second runner-up; and Adalynn Fontenot, the four-year-old daughter of TJ and Kristin Fontenot of Pine Prairie, third runner-up.
Little Miss: Jacie Claire Jones, the six-year-old daughter of Cary and Christina Jones of Lake Charles, was named Little Miss Viande Boucanée. Natalie Elizabeth Reed, the seven-year-old daughter of Aaron and Amanda Reed of Moreauville, was chosen as first runner-up to the Little Miss queen.
Missy Miss: Zoie LeFrank, the eight-year-old daughter of Richard and Shannon LeFrank of Lacassine, was selected as Missy Miss Viande Boucanée. Madison Brooke Leger, the nine-year-old daughter of Bobby and Brandy Leger of Opelousas, first runner-up; and Emily Dufour, the 10-year-old daughter of Robbin and Amy Menard of Ville Platte, second runner-up, rounded out the Missy Miss court.
Deb Miss: Kenley Adrian Lemoine, the 12-year-old daughter of Shawn and Ashley Lemoine of Moreauville, was crowned Deb Miss Viande Boucanée. Rounding out the Deb Miss court were first runner-up Vivian Joelle Deshotel, the 11-year-old daughter of Robin and Michelle Deshotel of Eunice; and second runner-up Kiley Nicole Krull, the 11-year-old daughter of David and Amanda Krull of Palmetto.
The 23rd Annual Viande Boucanée Pageant was held Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Northside Civic Center. Three new queens were selected to represent the festival, the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #632 and the City of Ville Platte for the next year.
Teen Miss: McKensie Necole Guillory, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert and Brandi Guillory of Melville, was named Teen Miss Viande Boucanée. She will be a freshman attending St. Joseph Catholic High School in Melville. Her hobbies include dancing, swimming, competing in pageants, playing softball and spending time with family and friends. Upon graduation from high school, she plans to attend college to pursue a degree in medicine to become a pediatrician.
Cami Lyn Krull, the 14-year-old daughter of David and Amanda Krull of Palmetto, was chosen as first runner-up to the new queen.
Miss: Kelsey Brianne McDaniel, the 18-year-old daughter of Ryan and Bridget McDaniel of Ville Platte and the late Coty McDaniel, was crowned Miss Viande Boucanée. The new queen will begin attending the University of Louisiana at Monroe to pursue a degree in pre-nursing followed by becoming a certified registered nurse and nurse anesthetist. She has served as a Cotton Picker performer for the Cotton Festival and her hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, reading, watching movies, umpiring softball and playing tennis.
Ms.: Deborah Sikes Farmer, the wife of Tad Sikes of Madisonville, was selected as Ms. Viande Boucanée. She is currently employed as a judicial secretary for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She plans to complete her bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies. Her hobbies include keeping up with her childrens’ various sports activities, sewing, cooking and reading.
