VP Rotary Club to award scholarship

The Rotary Club of Ville Platte will be awarding a scholarship for students attending the Louisiana Technical College, C.B. Coreil Campus in Ville Platte. This award will provide up to $500 or the amount of tuition and mandatory fees (whichever is less) for the fall and spring semester, as well as $250 for the summer semester, for a period of two years, for a total of $2,500.
The qualifying criteria is as follows:
•Student must be a resident of Ward One. If there are no eligible Ward One candidates, all other Evangeline Parish candidates will be considered.
•A minimum age of 16 and maximum age of 45.
•Committee members will consider business program applicants on priority basis. If there are no qualified applicants from the business curriculum, the committee will consider applicants from other available programs.
A) Primary qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent and satisfactory score on required entrance test.
B) Secondary qualifications: If a student fails to meet primary requirements, one can enroll in developmental classes. If the student passes at least one developmental class, they will be considered.
•While in school, applicant must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and maintain “good standing” with the campus.
