VPWA hosting annual Cinderella Day sale on March 12

Gazette Staff Report

If you’re looking for a prom, cotillion, homecoming, pageant, formal, suit, wedding or ball gown, come shop, try on and purchase a beautiful second-hand dress. If you need rhinestone jewelry, shoes and a matching clutch, come by and see what gently used second-hand items will be available.
If your closet is cluttered with dresses, suits, pageant dresses, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, children’s pageant wear, ball gowns or you have a wedding dress gathering dust that will never be worn again, bring your clean used/unused/new dresses, high heels, rhinestone jewelry or clutches to sell, let the Ville Platte Women’s Association (VPWA) sell it for you.
Cost to participate in the sale is $3 per dress and $1 per pair of shoes, jewelry and evening clutches. Drop your dresses off Friday, March 11, between 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ville Platte Northside Civic Center. No dresses will be accepted after this date.
The sale will be held Saturday, March 12, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Northside Civic Center.
Cash only will be accepted during drop-off and for any purchases. Any unsold dresses or money must be picked up by 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, or it will be donated to the VPWA. The organization does not have a place to store the unsold dresses.
Admission is $3 per person and only cash will be accepted at the door.
Proceeds of the fund raiser will benefit the VPWA and Miss Ville Platte Scholarship Fund.
The profit for what you’re asking to sell your dress is all yours with the exception of the $3 handling fee per dress, paid up front, for the VPWA to sell it for you. The dress stays with us at the Ville Platte Northside Civic Center while the group tries to make a sale on your behalf. You do not stay. You pick up the money and/or dress at the end of the sale on Saturday, March 12, between 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Please tag dresses as follows:
Two tags, one with dress description (color, size, make, if altered) and your name and a price (this one goes on the dress); and the second with the same information, including a phone number and price range (asking price to lowest accepted or firm - for the VPWA files). Any dresses not picked up by 6 p.m. will be donated to the organization!
