Annual Belaire Cove Crawfish Etouffee Cookoff set

The 25th Annual Belaire Cove Crawfish Etouffee Cookoff will be held Sunday, April 27, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Belaire Cove Chapel (located off of Highway 167 East outside of Ville Platte).
There is a $20 entry fee for each cooking team entering the cookoff. Trophies will be awarded to first, second and third place cookoff winners. Trophies will also be awarded for Most Original and Best Decorated booths.
The event kicks off at 8 a.m. with a D.J. and live music begins at 9:30 a.m. when Troy Lejeune and Band take the stage. Also beginning at 9:30 a.m. will be a washerboard tournament. At 11 a.m., plate lunches will be served for $7 a plate. Following the announcement of cookoff winners at approximately 12 noon, an “Old Time” auction will begin at 1 p.m.
In addition to the cookoff, washerboard tournament and live music, the day will also feature fun jumps, a clown show, face painting, crafts, refreshments, a sweet shop, hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries and more.
