Bayou Chicot native retiring from military after 24 years

Joseph Shane Fontenot is retiring after 24 years of honorable service as a member of the United States Air Force.
The Senior Master Sergeant is the son of Oswald and Linda Fontenot of Bayou Chicot. Sergeant Fontenot is the 705th Munitions, Special Weapons Flight Chief at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.
Fontenot has worked in every aspect of the nuclear weapons community spanning Gravity, Air Launched Cruise Missile and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile weapon systems.
Fontenot, his wife Michelle and their daughters Sofia, Kat, Esme and Ivy are looking forward to returning to Louisiana.
