BOGGY BAYOU: PPE winners named in coloring contest

Winners have been named in the 2017 Boggy Bayou Festival coloring contest, sponsored each year for students at Pine Prairie Elementary.
The contest is for grades pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. Judging the contest was PPHS Art Teacher Mrs. Margaretta Fontenot and her art students.
Placing first in the preschool division was Adalynn Fontenot. Second place winner was Blaiklee Mire, while Ryan LaFleur won third. Honorable mentions went to: Braxtyn Messer, Landry Deshotel, and Taigan Campbell.
Taking first in the kindergarten division was Ella Godwin, while Brady Guillory won second. The third place winner was Ava Catoire. Honorable mentions in kindergarten went to: Aniyah George, Cameron Johnson, and Emma Ashford.
Anna Hazelton took first place honors in the first grade division. Layla Fruge was named second place winner, while Laikyn O’Connor won third place. Honorable mentions went to: Brynli Cormier, Caylee Fontenot, and Jayden Mason.
Winning first place in second grade was Aiden Bruney. The second place award went to Jezlyn Martinez, while Carlie Vidrine won third place honors. Honorable mentions in second grade were: Emma Perkins, Isaac Deville, and Maddie Soileau.
Lexie Fontenot won the first place award for third grade. Kaydence Crawford took second place honors, while Lauren Fontenot won third place. Honorable mentions in the third grade entries were: Brianna Smith, Alyson Miller, and Myrisah Lafleur.
The first place award in fourth grade went to Ava Moras. Placing second was Journey Durison. Wesley Yielding took the third place award. Honorable mentions went to: Taylor Guillory, Malaykiah Clark, and Kurt Agdon.
The top finishers in each group won free passes to this year’s festival and the first place winners received medals and free passes.
