Cabot donates $28,000 for computers, desks at new library
Executives from Cabot Corporation’s corporate headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, visited Ville Platte Tuesday to join Cabot Ville Platte Plant Manager Mark Suellentrop in presenting a $28,000 check to be used to purchase laptop computers and computer desks for the new main parish library.
After the ceremony, held at the new main library Tuesday morning, January 14, Eric Soileau thanked the Cabot executives “from the bottom of our hearts,” adding the donation “won’t be forgotten.”
Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine said the city “has a tremendous relaztionship” with Cabot. She also commended Mark Suellentrop, Cabot Ville Platte plant manager, for actively engaging with the community.
Dave Miller, Cabot executive vice president, said the Ville Platte plant, which was built in 1943, “has a tremendous relationship,” with the city and the parish. “Our prosperity depends on our employees and the community’s prosperity.”
Miller noted that the donation is due to Cabot’s commitment to promoting education and technology in Evangeline Parish.
