City looking for new tractor to clear ditches, canals

Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine talks to Shane Brodnax with Southland Engine Company of Lafayette about the type of tractor would be the best for the city for clearing ditches and canals. Brodnax brought the Kubota tractor, in the background, Thursday, February 26, he thought would best fit the city’s needs, based on earlier discussions. Then he, the mayor and city road crewmen inspected some of the canals and ditches in the city that have the greatest need of clearing before making a final recommendation.
