City places new signs on streets

Before the rains late last week, city crews began putting up red street signs that have the city’s logo. The more than 80 new signs will replace illegible existing signs or will be placed where no street signs exist. Mayor Jennifer Vidrine said the signs will first be placed on high-traffic streets and then on residential neighborhood streets. The signs are reflective so they will be more easily seen at night. They will be placed on 19-foot poles to deter theft.
