Cloud re-elected as Turkey Creek mayor

Turkey Creek Mayor Heather Miley Cloud, who challenged November’s election results when she lost by four votes and accused her opponent of vote buying, has now won her re-election.
Cloud secured 53.17 percent of the vote, or 134 votes, in Saturday’s election. Her opponent, who she previously accused of vote buying, Bert K. Campbell, received 46.83 percent of the vote with a total of 118 votes.
After her victory, Cloud said, “I am pleased to continue to represent the good people of Turkey Creek. For me, this election has been a hard-fought battle over what is legal versus what is illegal. Tonight, justice has prevailed and my hope is that this case and this win will help to put a black eye in the face of election fraud.”
