EP school performance scores good overall

On Tuesday, October 21, the Louisiana Department of Education released school performance scores and Evangeline Parish fared well in the report.
Overall, most changes to Evangeline Parish school scores were minor, but there were some significant increases. Fortunately, most of the decreases were minor, with only one school losing enough points to drop a letter grade.
Ville Platte High School saw a solid increase in performance for this year compared to last, with a score of 76.8 (C) over last year’s 70.3 (C).
Some schools, like Basile High School, saw decreases, but not enough to change the school’s letter grade. Basile High scored 100 (A) this year, opposed to 106.3 (A) last year.
Mamou High School and Mamou Elementary saw the largest score increases. Mamou High scored 91.2 (B) this year, compared to 80.8 (C) last year. Mamou Elementary saw an even larger increase, scoring 100.1 (A) this year compared to 83.3 (C) last year.

James Stephens Montessori also managed to show improvement despite having a score of 100.2 (A) last year, scoring 111.7 (A) this year.
