EPSB employees to receive bonuses

Evangeline Parish School Board personnel can prepare to receive their 14th check this year.
At Wednesday night’s meeting, Chief Financial Officer Amy LaFleur informed the board and public that full time degreed personnel will receive a bonus check in the amount of $3,428.15. For full time support personnel, they will receive a bonus in the amount of $1,542.67.
Employees eligible to receive this bonus, which will be distributed on November 20, 2015 with regular payroll checks, must meet certain criteria.
The criteria is as follows: all persons actively employed during the 2014-2015 fiscal year who are still actively employed in this parish, those individuals who were on any leave without pay or worker’s compensation are deemed ineligible since they were not receiving wages during that time frame, any person who was employed by the district for the 2014-2015 year but is no longer employed will not receive this check, and any person hired after June 30, 2015 will not receive a check.
LaFleur also wanted to remind those who will receive this check that it will be distributed in check form and not by direct deposit.
Other items on the agenda, all of which were unanimously passed, were:
Modify the 2015-2016 school calendar by scheduling the kindergarten graduation for May 27, 2016 which will also be the last day of school for kindergarten.
Report on timber sales.
2014-2015 financial risk assessment.
Sales tax comparison.
Maintenance projects report from October 1, 2015 through October 30, 2015.
Approved payment of the following: First Student in the amount of $377,057.49 for October 2015 transportation services, ratification of bill to Mamou Canal in the amount of $5,246.07 for regular education and special education bus fuel, Farmers’ Gas Company, Inc. in the amount of $8,222.82 for BCE and PPHS fuel, and ratification of a bill to Shell Fleet Plus in the amount of $11,145.72 for regular education bus fuel and maintenance fuel.
