Fire District approves bid for Belaire Cove Station addition

Evangeline Parish Fire District #2 held a special meeting on July 18th to approve the lowest bid for an addition that will be made to the Belaire Cove Fire Station.
Bids were opened on Thursday, July 14th, for a project that would consist of expanding the fire station so that it will have the capability of housing a larger fire truck.
After reviewing the bids, on Monday the board accepted the $175,000.00 bid from Phillips General Contractor, Inc.
When the engineer’s fees are added in, the fire district is looking at spending $196,000 for the total project.
The expansion to the Belaire Cove Fire Station is expected to begin by mid-August, and should last approximately three months.
