Fire District No. 2 discusses audit

The Evangeline Parish Fire District #2 Board Chairman Danny McDaniel delivered good news concerning the fire district’s audit to his fellow board members Tuesday night.
McDaniel said, “The chief and I met with the auditor a couple of weeks ago to go over the findings with us, and the gist of it is, we had a very good audit. There were no problems in it at all.”
At the monthly meeting, Fire Chief Chris Harrison also informed the board that there would be a 9-1-1 update meeting on July 28, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the new 9-1-1 office located at Industrial Park.
The fire district entered an intergovernmental agreement with 9-1-1 back in April to have calls dispatched by 9-1-1 dispatchers. Before 9-1-1 can begin dispatching though, new equipment had to be installed at their new office. The meeting on July 28th will be to update all of the government entities in reference to receiving and installing the new equipment.
