Icy conditions possible for neighbors, only rain expected in Evangeline

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is issuing a winter weather advisory for two neighboring parishes Thursday morning, but Evangeline is not expected to share the potential misery.
Vernon, Rapides, and Avoyelles Parishes are expected to have the possibility of freezing rain and sleet, and elevated roads and bridges could have slick spots from frozen precipitation.
Thursday morning will start off dry at 6 am, but by 9 am patchy precipitation will begin across the region. The precipitation will be over by 6 pm Thursday.
The three parishes listed have a 30 percent change of freezing rain or sleet in the morning, dropping to 20 percent light rain after noon.
Evangeline and the rest of south central Louisiana will have a 40-50 percent change of light rain in the morning, tapering off to 20-50 percent in the afternoon.
