Knotoe Edwards celebrates 104th birthday

Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine welcomed Edward “knotoe” Thomas Jr., at La Vieille Banque on Thursday, December 19, for lunch on his 104th birthday. With him are his daughters Jenmarie Edwards and Jessie Griffin. The restaurant owner, Pam McGee, holds a sign announcing Edwards’ birthday she placed at the front of the restaurant. Some of Edwards’ many memories include bringing lunch to his father, who was working on the old Evangeline Parish Courthouse when it was new. Edwards stays active, and a reliable source said he was dancing the weekend before his birthday.
