Madrigal graduates from fire academy

On Friday, April 17, Ezra Madrigal of the Ward Five Fire Protection District, as well as 23 of his fellow classmates, graduated from a 14-week Recruit Academy held at the Carrol L. Herring LSU-Fire & Emergency Training Institute in Baton Rouge. Madrigal is the fire district’s first full-time employee, as well as its first academy graduate. The training received at this academy prepares the state’s firefighters to be able to mitigate a wide variety of emergency situations they may encounter.
