Makayla Jones seeks food donations

Makayla Jones, the 2014 Evangeline Parish Miss Heart of the USA Queen of Hearts, has collected more than 1,500 food items. She has not only donated those items to the Christian Care and Share Center in Ville Platte, she has started a food drive at her school, Vidrine Elementary. Her efforts exemplify the Miss Heart of the USA theme of “stomping out hunger.” Makayla will represent this parish in the state pageant on June 14, 2014. Makayla, the nine-year-old daughter of Corrie Lambert and Charles Jones, is asking the community to support her goals by donating in her name to the Christian Care and Share Center.
