Mamou Police Department arrests man for stealing, wrecking vehicle

In the Mamou Police Department’s attempt to stop the crime in their city, MPD has made a recent arrest of Bobby J. Thomas Jr. for unauthorized use of a movable, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, criminal trespassing, and simple criminal damage to property.
According to the MPD, Thomas “took a truck from 801 Mulberry St. in Mamou and wrecked it in a field located on Ballpark Road and Beacon Road.”
In their search for the vehicle thief, MPD was able to successfully located Thomas sleeping in another person’s vehicle, which he did not have authority to be in.
Thomas was arrested and booked into Mamou’s jail.
Other arrests the MPD have been able to make recently were:
Arthur Drummer, 716 3rd St. Lot A, Mamou, was arrested on May 8, 2016 for domestic abuse battery. Drummer was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s office that same day.
Jaqueline Goodley, 716 3rd St. Lot A, Mamou, was arrested on May 8, 2016 for aggravated second degree battery. Goodley was transferred to EPSO that same day.
Mamou Chief of Police Brent Zackery said, “No one is above the law, and the Mamou Police Department will not tolerate any crime.”
