Man, woman of year nominees announced

The Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual banquet Thursday, May 1, at the Ville Platte Civic Center beginning at 7 p.m. Each year, the chamber honors a man, woman, business person and business of the year. This year’s nominees have been announced and are as follows:
Man of the Year
•Mark Suellentrop - plant manager at Cabot Corporation
•Ray Pitre - retired mechanic and shop supervisor
•Jesse Muse - retired, volunteer fireman
•Randy Deshotel - Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court
•Mark Layne - KVPI general manager
•Rev. Darwan T. Lazard - assistant superintendent of the Evangeline Parish School Board
•Mark Buller - New York Life
•Dr. Thomas Fontenot - chairperson of the Recreational District Board
•Gervis LaFleur - director of Evangeline Community Action
Woman of the Year
•Mary Foster-Galasso - director of the Evangeline Parish Library
•Brenda Saucier - retired branch manager of Whitney Bank
•Jennifer Vidrine - mayor of Ville Platte
•Shounda Jack - bus driver for Evangeline Parish
•Wanda Verette - Evangeline Parish school teacher
•Linda Lebsack - Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce, Evangeline Tourism and Friend of the Library volunteer
