Mayor’s efforts keep CenturyLink office open

After several days of talking to CenturyLink, Mayor Jennifer Vidrine was pleased to report that the store located in Ville Platte, which was facing closure, will remain open.
Vidrine said that beginning Tuesday, March 3, the Ville Platte CenturyLink store will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This schedule will continue for three weeks while the company trains an employee for the store. After that three-week period, the store will resume its Monday through Friday regular schedule, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. all five weekdays.
“It was a matter of communication,” Vidrine said. “I had to let them know how critical this store is for our elderly population. It would have been a grave inconvenience for them.”
Vidrine added, “I’d like to thank everyone at CenturyLink’s corporate office in Monroe for keeping this store open and for listening to our concerns.”
