McNeese State girls volleyball team cleans future boys and girls club building

Members of the McNeese State University women’s volleyball team cleaned the old Evangeline Bank building at the corner of Main and Court streets, on Tuesday, August 19. The building will house the Ville Platte Boys and Girls Club. Mayor Jennifer Vidrine told the team members the club should be opened this fall and will offer a number of activities for youngsters. The mayor said the McNeese team coach got in touch with her to offer the “girl power” as a community service. None of the team members are from Louisiana, but come from Texas, Iowa, Chicago and other locations.
