Missing Mamou boy found with mother in Miss.

The search for 12-year old Jalon Bradley, came to an end Wednesday, April 27th, at 4:30 p.m., after authorities located the Mamou boy with his mother Elaine Freeman in Jackson, Mississippi.
On Tuesday April 26th, the Louisiana State Police issued a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Media Advisory on behalf of the Mamou Police Department for Bradely.
According to state police, Bradley had been “taken from Mamou High School by his non-custodial mother,” Freeman, “at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Freeman and Bradley were located in Jackson by the Hinds County Sheriff’s Deputies, who then informed La. State Police that Bradley had been found unharmed.
Mamou Police officials then drove to Mississippi on Thursday to retrieve the child.
According to the MPD, Bradely “is now back with his father.”
Until Freeman is extradited, she will remain in custody of the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department.
The MPD hopes to have Freeman transported to Evangeline Parish sometime next week.
According to a MPD press release, there has been more than one arrest made in connection with this crime, but “names will be held until the investigation is complete.”
Mamou Detective Brandon Stagg said, “Mamou Police Department would like to thank the state police, Mamou Fire Department, Ville Platte City Marshal, Ville Platte Police Department, and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for all of their help in this matter.”
Mamou’s new chief Brent Zackery said, “If any residents know of crimes being committed, please notify the police department, because we will not be tolerating any crime in our city.
