Nurse practitioner joining clinics in Mamou, Oakdale

Laurie Harmon will begin treating patients on Monday, August 17 at the Women’s Medical & Surgical Clinic of Mamou and the Women’s Clinic of Oakdale.
Harmon, Family Nurse Practitioner, earned her Master’s degree from McNeese State University in the Science of Nursing in June 2015. Harmon also has successfully completed her certification as a licensed family nurse practitioner.
Prior to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, she worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery for a total of 15 years at both Crowley and Jennings American Legion Hospitals. She currently holds certifications in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, Advanced Life Support and Inpatient obstetrics. She also has a certification in S.T.A.B.L.E. which is a program focused exclusively on the post-resuscitation and pre-transport stabilization care of sick newborns.
Dr. Harmon joins Dr. Upendra Kulkarni in treating patients at both facilities. Her focus will be to provide general and preventative services for newborns, children, adolescent boys and girls and women.
