PINE PRAIRIE — A pair of Pine Prairie Town Hall employees were arrested on Thursday night for telephone harassment and simple assault.
In a press release by the Pine Prairie Police Department, PPPD Detective Joshua C. Estes was contacted on Thursday night by Town Hall Clerk Kristan Bordelon and her boyfriend Shane Guillory, who works maintenance for the village, concerning a telephone harassment case. Estes met with both Bordelon and Guillory concerning the matter at the village’s town hall.
Guillory provided text messages to Estes that came from fellow village maintenance worker Jamie Dupre. According to the release, “the messages were very derogatory toward Bordelon.” Bordelon then allowed Estes to listen to a conversation that had been recorded on her cell phone. The call was made from Dupre to Bordelon on the Town Hall’s phone and was done during working hours.
The release stated that “this conversation was very lewd and derogatory toward Mrs. Bordelon and there were threats made to Mr. Guillory and Mrs. Bordelon by Mr. Dupre.”
During the conversation, Dupre arrived at Town Hall and Estes asked Bordelon if she would like to press charges, and she stated that she did. Estes proceeded to arrest Dupre for simple assault and telephone harassment.
While Estes further investigated the case, Dupre informed the PPPD detective that Bordelon had been calling and texting him at all hours of the night. Dupre then gave a statement and showed Estes the numerous text messages he had received from Bordelon.
At that time, Estes proceeded to obtain a warrant for Bordelon. Pine Prairie Chief of Police L.C. Deshotel then informed Estes that Bordelon was going to turn herself in at the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, where she was charged with telephone harassment.
Bordelon’s bail was set at $7,500 and she made bond. Dupre’s bail was set at $10,000 and he also made bond.
Back in June, The Ville Platte Gazette received a police report concerning an alleged sexual harassment towards Bordelon by longtime village mayor Terry Savant. In that report, it was stated that the two sides agreed that if Bordelon would not file a complaint against Savant that he would no longer come to the town hall office while finishing his current term, and not seek reelection this coming November.
