Pine Prairie police charge man in shooting

Pine Prairie police charge man after argument leads to shooting.
Pine Prairie Assistant Chief Chuncey Fontenot reported that David Glen Duplissey, 25, 963 Adams Cemetery Road, Kelly, was arrested and charged after Duplissey allegedly fired at someone in their own driveway with a 12-guage shotgun.
According to police, there was an argument between Duplissey and the victim which led to Duplissey allegedly entering the home, grabbing a 12-guage shotgun and firing. The victim, who was not identified, received several wounds from the shot in his legs up to his neck and was transported to Rapides Medical Center.
Officers quickly located the gun and the spent shell and arrested Duplissey near the corner of Elm and Fourth streets without incident.
Duplissey was charged with aggravated second-degree battery and his bond was set at $25,000 by 13th Judicial District Judge John Larry Vidrine.
Police Chief L.C. Deshotel thanked the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for assistance and reminds residents to report any illegal activity they observe in the area.
