Police await toxicology report in Richard’s death

Although 29-year-old Latoya Richard’s official cause of death was drowning, police still have not ruled whether or not her death was a homicide.
The latest information in this case is that the Ville Platte Police Department is awaiting the results of a toxicology report to assist them in deciding how to proceed with their investigation.
Richard’s family members found her body in her home on High School Drive in September. Richard was found inside her home with her head inside a bucket of water.
While investigators have said that her death is suspicious, there has been no official word on whether the case will be ruled a homicide.
