Police investigating multiple break-ins at area pharmacies

Two local police departments currently have an on-going investigation concerning recent pharmacy break-ins that took place in the Town of Mamou and the Village of Pine Prairie.
Mamou Police Department Officer Ethan Jones and officer Mike Thomas were dispatched on December 23, 2015 in reference to a commercial business alarm activation.
According to a MPD press release, upon arrival at one of the town’s local pharmacies, the two officers “noticed that the glass on the front door had been broken.”
Jones, at that point, contacted Patrol Supervisor Phyllis Soileau. The three officers proceeded to review surveillance footage, but were unable to identify the two individuals that committed the crime.
They were however able to guesstimate that the two suspects were male. According to the MPD press release, one subject appeared to be around six-feet and one-inch tall and weighs approximately 235 pounds, while the other individual looked to be approximately five-feet and 11 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds.
After filling a duffle bag that the individuals had brought with them, with prescription drugs, the two male subjects proceeded to exit the establishment the same way they had entered.
The MPD ask that “if anyone knows or has any information on this incident please call the Mamou Police Department at (337) 468-5221.” The MPD also said that all tips concerning this matter “will remain anonymous.”
The Pine Prairie Police Department are also having to look into a pharmacy break-in that occurred at one of the village’s local pharmacy back in November.
The only information at this time from the PPPD is that no one has been arrested in connection with this crime but there is an on-going investigation underway.
