Police question suspects in Tuesday night shooting

On December 16, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a call reporting shots fired on East Beech Street.
Upon arrival, officers found Franco Doucet lying on the ground and learned that he had been shot.
Acadian Ambulance was dispatched and transported the victim to Mercy Regional Medical Center. According to Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue, the victim was later transported to another hospital in Alexandria by Air Med. At press time, Doucet’s exact condition was unknown.
Lartigue also stated that multiple suspects are being questioned at this time, but no further information is being released since the shooting is still under investigation.
