Radio auction deemed a success
Organizers of the radio auction Saturday, broadcast by KVPI, say they hope to bring in more than the $8,000 the auction brought in last year. The auction was held for the first time at the Veterans Home. Last year, it was held at the Northside Civic Center. On air auctioneers this year were John Pitre, Clerk of Court Randy Deshotel, John Pitre, Nick LeBas and Thomas Scully. Funds raised will be split by boys and girls baseball. Featured at the auction were everything from home-baked goods to Saints and LSU Tiger football tickets.
