Tornado watch in effect for Evangeline Parish

KATC.com is reporting that a tornado watch is in effect for most of Acadiana until 7:00 p.m. The watch has been issued for the following parishes: Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Cameron, Evangeline, Grant, Jefferson Davis, La Salle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Sabine, St. Landry, Vermilion, and Vernon. Conditions this afternoon will be favorable for the development of storms capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds, hail, and frequent lightning this afternoon and evening.
