Ville Platte native to be celebrated by Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge

Ville Platte native Jim Jeansonne’s 50 years as an artist will be celebrated with a retrospective, or exhibition showing the development of the work of a particular artist over a period of time, from May 24 to June 29, 2017.
The event, which is being hosted by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, will be held at the Fire House Gallery located at 427 Laurel St., Baton Rouge.
Jeansonne, who is a 1959 graduate of Sacred Heart School, will be present for two events for this show. Those days will be Wednesday, May 24th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to enter a raffle to win a 24x36 inch multicolor print of their choice.
Jeansonne will also present for the show on Saturday, June 10th, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m for an artist woodblock printing demonstration relief printing demonstration.
For this event, Jeansonne’s artwork will be displayed to highlight his history of printmaking in Baton Rouge.
This event is free and open to the public.
