On Sunday Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a “single vehicle fatality crash that occured on Le Bois D’arc Road” shortly after 1:00 a.m. December 25, 2016.
The crash claimed the life of 24-year-old Allison Gremillion of Ville Platte.
According to a Troop I press release, “the initial investigation by State Police revealed that Gremillion was operating a 2000 Nissan Maxima eastbound” and “ran off the left side of the roadway.”
The release went on to state that “Gremillion’s vehicle entered a ditch, struck an embankment and overturned.”
According to the release, “Gremillion was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected.”
Gremillion sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Evangeline Parish Coroner’s Office.
At the time of the accident it was unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash, but toxicology samples taken from Gremillion have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
According to State Police, “this crash remains under investigation.”
