VP, Pine Prairie men involved in shootout

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a shootout on Lariat Lane in Easton in the early morning hours of Friday, January 20, 2017.
According to an EPSO press release, the shooting occurred “early Friday morning” on January 20, 2017 and resulted in two individuals suffering gunshot wounds.
The release also stated that “during the initial investigation, investigators were able to identify the subjects involved as Jody Thomas Thrasher of Ville Platte and Kylan Wayne Ardoin of Pine Prairie.”
Ardoin, who “suffered a gunshot wound to the chest,” was transported from Savoy Medical Center to Lafayette General Hospital, where he remains in “stable by serious condition.”
Thrasher was AIRMED from Savoy Medical Center to Rapides General Hospital. Thrasher, who “suffered from wounds to the groin area,” was immediately taken into surgery at Rapides.
According to the release, “a motive has not been determined,” and “no arrest have been made at this time.”
This incident remains under investigation.
