VPPD officers undergo camera training

All Ville Platte police officers received new Veho Muvi minicameras they will wear at all times while on duty. The cameras can be set to record audio and video by being voice activated and have a wide angle of view. The user clips the minicamera onto the front of their shirts. Here they are shown being trained on using the minicamera by a manufacturer representative. Also talking to the officers was Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine, who said she learned about the minicameras during a conference. She said recordings, which are admissible as evidence in court, will “help keep everyone honest and will keep everyone safe.”
