Mamou shuts down Ville Platte

The Mamou Lady Demons just continue to get better and better. They picked up a 10-0 victory over the Ville Platte Lady Bulldogs Wednesday afternoon.

Heidi Manuel (6-3) threw all five innings to get the win for Mamou. She allowed just one hit and fanned seven batters. She had only one walk.

Kaithlyn Fontenot suffered the loss for VPHS. She was tapped for 13 hits by Mamou batters.

The Lady Demons scored two runs in the third inning, four runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth inning. Katie Landreneau led the charge, going 3-4 with two runs batted in. She also swiped three bases. Kristie Soileau was 2-3 at the plate. She drove in one run and had a stolen base. Sadie Fontenot was 2-4 at the plate. She hit a double and a triple. She also drove in four runs and swiped four bases.

Destiny Anderson got the only hit for the Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Demons improve to 16-8 overall and 5-2 in district. They travel to Westminster Tuesday.
