Money recovered by EPSO
Sheriff Eddie Soileau and Captain Keith Dupre are shown with money the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office recovered last week after authorities responded to complaints from citizens concerning narcotic activity on Fruge Street. An investigation led authorities to search a residence at 1367 Fruge Street. Three people were charged and $4,700 of cash in denominations of $5, $10, $20 and $100 were found in the residence, along with residue of powder cocaine on a pair of pants and in a Ziplock® bag. Authorities also believe the microwave was being used to cook cocaine. Officers charged three in this investigation, and Sheriff Soileau said, “We’re going to keep doing it.” He encourages the public to contact his office with any information about illegal activities. He said all callers will remain anonymous.
