The Mamou Police Department has been hard at work in an effort to rid their town of criminals.
Recently the MPD made three separate arrests for domestic abuse, drugs and carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
On December 1, 2016 the MPD arrested Randy Freeman after a female reported that she had been physically abused by the Mamou man.
Upon questioning of the victim, the police department learned that Freeman also hit the victim’s juvenile son as well.
Freeman was arrested and booked in jail for domestic abuse.
The second arrest happened on December 6, 2016 after an individual reported that they had noticed a guy sleeping in their shed.
Police officers located the suspect - Mark Lamson - walking down the street, and upon speaking with Lamson officers noticed a marijuana pipe sticking out of his pocket.
When Lamson was searched, officers also found that the suspect had crystal meth in his possession as well.
The Ville Platte man was arrested and booked in jail on charges of possession of crystal meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing on an immovable.
On December 9, 2016 the MPD also arrested 22-year old Jordan Harris, of Mamou, after the parent of a juvenile reported that she had caught Harris in the bed with her child.
When the police arrived at the home where the juvenile lived with her parents, Harris escaped the home by jumping out of a window.
After searching for three days, Harris was located at his aunt’s house in Ville Platte.
Harris was arrested and booked on charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Since their arrests, all three individuals have been transported to the Evangeline Parish jail.
