LELA DESHOTELS VIDRINE
July 19, 1922 - September 29, 2013
Funeral services were held for Lela Deshotels Vidrine, 91, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Morrow at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 2. Burial followed in the St. Peter Mausoleum.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ms. Vidrine died Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas with her beloved family at her side.
Survivors include her loving children, Stephen Paul Vidrine and Anita Faye Vidrine Parker and her husband, David,  all of Baton Rouge, Don Richard Vidrine and his wife, Paula, of Helena, Montana, Joan Marie Vidrine Borges and her husband, Louis, of Lafayette, and Linda Angela Vidrine Funchess and her husband, Mac, of Fulson. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her eight grandchildren, Rachel Borges Johnson, Ryan Borges, Chase Funchess, Celeste Funchess, Nicole Funchess, Dylan Parker, Tyler Parker and Trey Parker; and her one great-grandchild, Conner Johnson. They were her absolute greatest joy in life. She will also be mourned by her only remaining sibling, Verna Guillory of Ville Platte. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her sweet disposition and kind soul will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eloi Vidrine; her parents, Fernand and Angeline Ortego Deshotels; and her siblings, Nolan Deshotels, John H. Deshotels, Nathan Deshotels, Beverly Ann Deshotels and Lou Anna Deshotels.
