Nielsen Media Research, Inc. sent a "diary" out to Folks axeing 'em to keep a record of programs they is watching and to comment on'em. They is praying lak the really want opinions from the average viewer. Who do they think they is kidding? The man with the money is who they is gonna listen to. Wal! Them programs with the bedroom scenes of undressed folks needs to be took off. Them skinny bikini clad young ladies set a bad example fer young girls. They need to put some clothes on. The thangs advertized on T.V. are disgraceful. This is a clean family newspaper so we won't go into detail 'bout this ad. But iffen a man har to take a pill to be a man, he ain't much of a man to start with. To see the ads fer jewelry, clothes, shoes, and face creams - Wal! They ain't worried 'bout a "depression."
Now these are clean, decent program: Matlock, Mash, Little House on the Prairie, Joyce Meyers, Mayberry, The Crosby Show. By Granny! Ain't to worried 'bout our American men watching garbage 'cause they is glued to the set watching football, basketball, soccer, tennis and sports in general. Don't think they is influenced by the other garbage on T.V. Oh! yes! They watch the news and weather.

Nick Lascaro had to make a trip to North Oaks this past week fer a checkup and treatment. His sister, Josie Shanks of Jackson, Miss. came to visit him. Spent 'bout three days jes chatting and talking over old times. He enjoyed her visit. Says he is feeling much better, but he ain't coming back fast as he wants to. Take it easy, Nick. Don't rush recovery. The good Lord will help you on the way.

Penny McDowell, daughter of Earl and Marilyn had hip surgery and needs surgery on the other hip. We pray she will have all that cared fer and will soon be fully recovered.

David Lanier wuz still in Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge as of 03-25-09. His recovery has been slow. David is a valued member of the Shiloh Church of Christ and the community. He is certainly being held up in prayer for his recovery and his return him will be soon.

Les Lanier, age 91, is now in Germantown Town Baptist Rehab Hospital. His recovery has been slow after a lengthy hospital stay. We pray he'll be able to return home soon.

News wuz received that Bobby Ray McCoy is a victim of cancer. He lives with his family in Baton Rouge. He is a native of Amite - son of Bobby and Myrtie McCoy (deceased).

Mark Oliver, Amite fireman, is still receiving treatment by making trips to Chicago. May God Comfort him and his family.

Stanley White has suffered a broken hip and has other medical problems. He is being treated at the LaCombe Hospital. Stanley and his family live in Folsom jes' above the Wildlife Center.

Anna Schenk has undergone surgery Friday 03-27-09 fer a problem with her throat. She is the receptionist fer Lee Gray, CPA. We wish her well and pray the problem is solved.

Mike Hayden, songleader at Hayen Grove Church of Christ, underwent minor surgery Tuesday, 03-24-09. It wuz a one day procedure and he is home doing well. When ya' go to church and participate in singing lovely songs led by Mike and hear Bro. Kenneth Istre's sermons - Wal! jes know ya' been to church.

Margaret "Toad" Stevens has been suffering with severe back pain. But, Toad is lak that battery - she jes keeps on ticking. In spite of the pain, she clumb up and rode on the former Oyster Pearl & King float in the festival parade. Says she does it ever year and didn't want to miss this year. Rekon she's looking forward to next year. She's gonna jes keep on ticking. Good luck - Toad!

Tony Ardillo is not in good health. He has spent quite some time in North Oaks, but wuz recently transferred to Hood Hospital here in Amite. His wife, Mary is glad to have him close to home. Their son, Tim Ardillo, who is manager of a large zoo in a northern state wuz home fer a few days visit recently.
